Melanie Michael is a recent graduate of Brown University, where she earned degrees in Visual Art and Computer Science. Her current work explores the tension between the disciplined repetition of textiles and the organic spontaneity of the painted mark. Michael’s work was selected for the Brown Arts Institute Annual Juried Exhibition in both 2025 and 2026, and has been exhibited at the List Art Center in Providence, RI, more than half a dozen times over the past two years. Her senior thesis exhibition is currently on view again at the Art Complex Museum in Duxbury, MA, in the Staff Gallery.
